Brief Profile of Mr. Sanjay Dhariwal
Sanjay Dhariwal is a Chartered Accountant, and a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, and is the other Founding Partner of the firm Dhariwal & Sreenivas. Sanjay is also a graduate of law from Bangalore University and completed his article-ship under Kiranji Nahar, Chartered Accountant, and Bangalore. He heads the Indirect tax division, besides being involved in the other services of the firm, including financial services. He handles corporate and multinational clients across a wide range of industries.
Sanjay has been active in the field of spreading awareness on Indirect tax by conducting seminars and presenting papers. He is a visiting faculty at the ICAI. He has presented more than five hundred papers on VAT at Assocham, CII, CNBC as a panelist and various associations and organisations all over India. He has also presented papers on Income Tax, Sales Tax, VAT, Entry Tax, Entertainment tax, Luxury Tax, & Professional Tax, Stock Market and portfolio Management, Service Tax and Investment planning for individuals conducted by various forum of Chartered Accountants Association/branches.
He is also a regular contributor of articles on indirect taxes in various leading journals. He has authored books like Guide to Value Added Tax 4 editions (the first book on KVAT in karnataka). He has co Authored the Book as Guide to Karnataka Value Added Tax Audit. He has also co authored the book on KVAT Audit Manual to be published by ICAI. He has authored sales Tax Ready Reckoner 2004-2005 published by Karnataka Law Journal Publications. He has also authored KVAT Ready Reckoner 2012/2013 published by Karnataka Law journal Publications. He has written and edited various books on Commercial Tax Laws in Karnataka like Sales Tax, Entry Tax, Luxury Tax, Entertainment Tax, Profession Tax published by Karnataka Law Journal Publication. He has written articles for various sales tax journals like KSCAA, written articles on commercial laws for publication in leading news papers like Times of India, Indian Express, and Deccan Herald etc.
He is a Member in commercial taxes consultative committee of the Commercial Taxes Department, Karnataka and trainer to Karnataka and Mizoram Tax officials.. He was the Vice chairman- South Zone of All India tax federation of India (AIFTP). He was also a Co-opted member of Indirect Tax committee of ICAI for 3 years. He is a co-opted member of IDT Committee and IT committee in BCAS. He is also an executive committee member of Adharsh College being the renowned college of Bangalore. He is also the Director of JITO (Apex). He is also the national president of Terapanth Professional Forum (TPF).
